If you were unable to take advantage of our Early Registration, then please join us for Summer Registration on June 7th and 8th from 9am to 2pm. If you are new to us then please be sure to bring the required documents for registration: proof of residence, SS card, and your child's Alabama blue immunization card. Late registration will begin on July 21st. If your child has applied for our Technology Magnet Program and you have not received an acceptance letter, please email our guidance counselor, Dr. Grimaud, at ggrimaud@hsv.k12.al.us. - Greetings! I am Avis Williams, a passionate educator! Born and raised in Salisbury,NC, I joined the Army upon graduating from North Rowan High School. While in the Army, I was stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC, Yongsan, Korea and finally, Redstone Arsenal, AL. I earned teaching certificates in the areas of English, Physical Education and Educational Administration. I completed my doctorate degree at the University of Alabama. During my career as an educator, I worked as a high school English teacher, PE teacher and coach and have served as a principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels, an executive director for secondary curriculum and instruction as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. I currently serve as the Superintendent of Historic Selma City Schools where we Aim for Excellence and keep Students First! I have a beautiful, smart daughter who is an Airman in the US Air Force and a graduate from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). As an avid runner, I compete in several 10K races and half marathons each year. Also, I enjoy writing, teaching and community service. I am always excited to lead, serve and inspire others.
